Abstract

The Department of Non-formal Education (NFE)  over time experience running  fluctuating existence. Many majors  still firmly stand  with the resources supported by strong and solid, but some are static because it is constrained by the lack of prospective student interest in the majors. Lack of policy support and the absence of an impact on the quality assurance unit of the weak bargaining power NFE.  Lack  of  coordination  between  institutions  PNF  is  also  exacerbating  the existence  of  the  department.  With  the  implementation  of  institutional
strengthening  Subject  NFE  is  expected  to  improve  the  effectiveness,  efficiency, and quality of the  institution. This article aims to find solutions to the problems  faced by the Department  of NFE in responding to the needs of society in order to be effective and  can improve the quality  of services. Steps that can be  taken to address these problems, among  others, by strengthening academic departments of NFE,  implement  development  programs,  conducting  institutional  structuring, involvement  in  public  policy  formulation,  and  the  development  of  partnerships within the scope of national or international.
